Swansea University is situated in Swansea, the second largest city in Wales, England. Established in 1920, Swansea University will commemorate its centenary in 2020. It is a prestigious institution with a rich historical background. The university boasts two distinct coastal campuses and stands out as one of the few universities in the UK that feature an independent campus garden style by the seaside. The Bay Campus, which forms part of this independent setup, houses several world-class scientific research centers and has forged collaborative partnerships with nearly 100 international enterprises and institutions including Boeing, Ericsson, IBM, Rolls Royce, SONY, Tata Steel, Huawei Technologies Co., LTD., Infosys Technologies Co., LTD., and BP (one of Europe's largest corporations). Many of these companies provide students with valuable opportunities for short-term internships. With over 17,000 students from more than 120 countries enrolled at the university; however British students constitute the majority while only around 3,000 are international students contributing to a highly diverse linguistic and global environment.
